It's great that you're reading. But frankly, it's time to take it up a notch.
That's because Lynne and Matt recently took care of another component for a fantastic wedding: The Music. The Future Couple entered into a contract with Sounds Abound, a cool little music company in Naperville.Mark the DJ (no commas - that's his name) is a great guy and seems like he'll be the right amount of fun. (We don't want a wedding singer incident, after all.) Special thanks to Mr. Seago for finding him.
Now, Lynne and Matt have to work on picking some songs that definitely, without-a-doubt, gotta-have-it, for sure, absolutely must be played on The Big Day. (And, on the other side, the music that should be avoided, skipped, dodged, passed by and run away from no matter what.)
So, Mark the DJ offered up a list of the 50 most requested wedding songs. Take a gander below, and let Lynne and Matt know what you want (or don't) at the reception. OK, maybe I finally figured out this "leave a comment on the blog" thing! Love your blogs! Now on to the important stuff, music! Aunt Nancy's requests:
1. like most of the list posted, most were good dancing music, but here's some of my favorites-Boot Scootin Boogie, Unforgetable, Wonderful Tonight (good prom theme), Elvis's BEST song- Can;'t help falling in love, My Girl and New York, New York!
2. Uncle Tom and Sara (how nice of me to speak for them) want "Shout" since it truly was the Daddy-Daughter dance at her wedding, something she wanted since she was about 3.
3. Uncle Tom will annomously request "James Brown is Dead" I think all the "boys" in my family will really dance to that one!
4. I need a song to dance with Tripp, since I didn't get to dance with him at their wedding, sad isn't it????? I've decided that your wedding is the perfect time for us to get our "dance". Hint:Make sure you not only get to dance with your opposite sex parent, but make sure the opposite sex parent-in-law gets a dance too!
5. Ok, what's a wedding without a polka, even non-polish weddings need a good polka. Sorry, can't name any off the top of my head, see Grandma!
6. Not sure about the chicken dance, but I guess it's fun, NO HOKEY-POKEY!!!!!!! Never did like that song!

I think Wonderful Tonight is Jim & Shelley's wedding song. Wilson Pickett is always known as "Wicked". "NewYork New York" not Frank at his best. Strangers in the Night better. Jimmy Buffet Margaritaville. Bruce - Born to Run (no need to explain). Billy Joel Movin' Out - a fav of Megan. Terry Cashman "Talkin Baseball" (enough said). Mark
Talking baseball and Born to Run are officially added to the mix. Some people have said that Matt's dancing style was inherited from his father. But that can't be true, can it?
I guess we'll see....
Megan actually loves and hates "Moving Out", just for the record, but she also doesn't think its a great dancing song. She wants to dance!! Maybe that one thats a line dance and not at the same time... "one hop this time, charlie brown, charlie brown..."
I'd like Frank's "My Kind of Town" ... and how about "I Left my Heart in San Francisco" -- 2 favorites from all our friends' weddings!
