Quotation Marks: Thanksgiving mix up

Woman at grocery store, Thanksgiving morning: Oh you're so cute, are you excited for Thanksgiving?
Mark: (hesitantly) Yeah.
Woman: And are you going to eat a big dinner?
Mark: (less hesitantly) Yeah.
Woman: And potatoes?
Mark: Yeah!!
Woman: And are you going to have turkey - eat the big bird?
Mark (horrified): No eat Big Bird. No Big Bird. No!

And then the woman apologized profusely.

Mark of Fridays: Pete and Repeat

Sometimes, for fun, we ask Mark who he looks like. We usually run though everyone he knows:

"Mark, do you look like Mommy?"
Yes, he says.

"Do you look like Pap-pap?" Yes again.

"Do you look like Bababoo?" Yes, of course.

"Well, who do you look most like?"

His answer, invariably, is an enthusiatic: "Josh!" (His uncle, who he also maintains has grey hair.)

But Reliable Sources say that this answer simply isn't right. Mark is Matt, only smaller.

They have the same mannerisms... sometimes to the point that Mommy feels like living that scene in Forrest Gump when big and little Forrest are watching the TV together, both sitting Indian-style with their heads cocked to one side.

They have the same interests: namely reading, wearing their "I hats," eating pizza, and watching Charlie Brown. Recently Mark told us that his name was Charlie Brown. Not too surprisingly, his dad had gone through a "Call me Charlie Brown" phase as a child.

And, as the above picture reveals, they look a lot alike, too. Only a profile shot could show it better.

Mark of Fridays: Road trip

You're not ready to get on the road, until you're wearing the proper gear: comfy clothes, good shoes and a spinny hat.
