Mark vs. Mark

In honor of Big Mark Hanley's birthday, we'd like to play the first annual game of Big Mark or Little Mark? (Patent pending.) Each of these statements apply to Mark Hanley. But which Mark Hanley do they apply to: Grandpa Mark Hanley or Grandson Mark Hanley?

Click here to see the answers.

1. Mark fell asleep on the couch downstairs right away.

2. Mark was really hitting the bottle. Now he's passed out.

3. Mark is a Mets fan, no doubt about it.

4. The doctor said Mark eats a lot for his age.

5. Mark threw a perfect game.

6. Mark fell asleep with his mouth open and his arms folded across his chest this afternoon.

7. Mark has some cute pajamas with frogs on the feet.

8. When Mark was falling asleep, his hands kept hitting him in the face.

9. Mark sure doesn't have much hair, does he?

10. Mark has a dad named Matt.

11. Mark always falls asleep at family gatherings.

12. Mark makes strange noises when he sleeps. But he never opens his eyes!

13. Mark's diaper is full. Again.

Milestones

Today, Little Mark is one week old.
Today, his mom is 30 years old.
What a wonderful gift to have both of them healthy, happy and home.
That's Lynne on the left - a few hours old - 30 years ago.
That's Mark on the right - a few minutes old - seven days ago.

Happy birthday to a great wife and fantastic mom!

Beauty mark

Not that Lynne and Matt are biased in any way - they maintain their objectivity at all costs - but Mark is clearly the best looking baby, ever.

Home at last!

The new and improved Hanley family is home, healthy and happy. The hospital was an adventure, to be sure. Mark had a short trip to the ICU but it turned out to be nothing major. He's doing great and mom is recovering well.
Lynne, Matt and Mark came home around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and we all made it through the night without a single calamity.
In case you didn't know, Mark is named after his grandfather - Matt's dad. His middle name, Stewart, is in honor of Lynne's maternal grandfather, Hubert "Red" Stewart (so the little guy can be a namesake but isn't stuck with the name Hubert). Little Mark sure has some great examples to live up to.
Everyone seems to agree that he looks like mom, which experts agree is the better half.

We'll write more later about the hospital time later. For now, here's what you really want to see: Baby pictures!
